this song makes me happy. or at least somewhat content.

i finished reading god of small things and i kind of thought it would just be a giant turd of angst on the marginalised and how shitty life is for them and pretentious and condescending as fuck .. but it wasn't. i don't know if this is accurate but i think i was just attracted to the slight romanticism of the novel and the tone of the narration. and this is also a great example of how broken sentences and paragraphs can work .. in comparison to fucking book thief which i want to stabstabstab. and roy's poetic, train-of-thought-esque style of writing was perfect too, also in comparison with english patient which i also want to stab. as a postcolonialist text i think roy married historical and political references, statements, criticism with love/loyalty/betrayal/humanbehaviours really, really well. there was not so much of the former to make me too bored and uninterested, and similarly with the latter for the novel to become a pool love angst diarrhea.

bed time.

the row
bag lady at it's best. i found this whole collection pretentious, but as singular items the above are almost perfect.

erdem
prints saved this collection big time. it's like a nebula made of flowers, i don't understand. need a close up asap.

proenza schouler
so hard to pick favourites .. so ended up posting most of the collection. so perfect. colour palette, shapeless silhouettes, the awesome landscape knitted sweater in the second look. UGH.

givenchy
again, the colour palette. first with the strong reds and blacks, with a red suit ALMOST as good as their fall collection one (perfect in too many ways) and then morphing into whites and sheers. so whimsical and so not-strong but still givenchy. and THEN into the leopard print which can never look tacky when givenchy does it. a little on the light side with the geometrical and print features of a givenchy collection but still so, so SO good.

rag & bone
short and sweet. city chic. i love how rag & bone always looks so simple and casual, as if you whipped up the outfit in 5mins. oh and also my undying love for socks + heels.

erin fetherston
nothing new, but that's ok because i love it regardless. reminds me of daisy fields, the gossip girl white party from s02, and pefect work/work-function attire.
